July Shows | July 4, 2010
Happy 4th of July Friends !!! We have two Crow's Nest Beach Parties show's in July. Each Summer on Thursday evenings the Crow's Nest offers its Summer Beach Party series with live entertainment, right on the beach. The party starts at 5:30 pm and goes until sunset. With Ribsy’s Nickel on the outdoor beach stage, and Crow's Nest's famous BBQ and outdoor bar, The Crow's Nest beach parties are a unique and popular event. Families are welcome, and there is no admission charge. First show is Thurday July 8th. And then 3 weeks later on July 29th. See you there !!!

Holiday Parties | December 1, 2009
Well let the holiday parties begin !!! There won't be any shows planned till after the new year. So everybody just hang tight and maybe we'll see ya at one of these holiday parties this season. Coldwater Classic 2009 | October 10, 2009
We will be playing the official O'Neil Coldwater Classic Thursday night party at the Miramar on the Santa Cruz municipal wharf November 5th at 9pm. This will be a rare show for us on the wharf and by far the best week to be in Santa Cruz to watch professional surfing. It just keeps getting better every year !! Big shouts out to Sean and the rest of the boyz up at the Lodge in Cal Berkely. Thanks for all the hospitality and great Luau Party. You guys keep on LIVIN !!!

Wow !!! What a block party it was this year. With seven acts performing all day and the Nickel finishing up in the evening. It was once again a great time on the Westside on Labor Day weekend. We would like to give a big shouts out to all the neighbors and especialy to Heather,Ashley and Big John for all there hard work !!! And now for our next show we will be at the Blue Lagoon Friday October 9th. with Machette Fight it's a 21 and over show 5 bucks at the door. Show start at 9 pm.

Happy 4th of July !!! We’re entering the middle of summer and the Nickel a couple great shows coming up. First it’s back to the Crows Nest July 16th. Families are welcome, and there is no admission charge. Then  Friday July 24th at the Santa Cruz Vets Hall it’s a event that will bring Santa Cruz together. It’s a benefit show for the Santa Cruz Surf Museum. All proceeds go to the museum located inside the Lighthouse at Steamers Lane. All ages 4 bands surf art.

Moms For A Cure Beach Party | May 23, 2009
Okay everyone....get ready! Mom's For A Cure is hosting a BEACH PARTY on Saturday May 23rd at Cafe El Palomar. The party starts at 3:00pm-7:00pm, $5 cover charge for adults, kids get in FREE! We have Ribsy's Nickel & D.j. Baby rocking the beach with there music, Food & Bar provided by Leo from the Cafe El Palomar, a "kid's section" that includes balloon artistry, face painting, & much much more! Anthony Tashnick vs. Giant Puerto | May 10, 2009

A legend at 16, when he stepped up to ride what many called the “wave of the winter” at Mavericks in 2001, Tashnick is now a mainstay in the world of big-wave riding. The latest in a long line of chargers from the West Side of Santa Cruz, Tashnick won the 2005 Mavericks contest in such dominant fashion, there was no question who would take home the trophy. Well-traveled in his thirst for big waves, Tashnick has been named to the alternate list of the prestigious Eddie Aikau contest (Waimea Bay, Hawaii) for the third straight year. Movie Documentary | November 10, 2008
Check out Ribsy's Nickel in this documentary movie "As the Gears Turn". Director Cuyler Ruskin and Wiley Watson take you on a very personal journey into the life of 2007 ISDE & WORCS Champion Kurt Caselli. Spend an inside look with Caselli while he talks about about his father, the people who influence him and what he enjoys about riding. As the Gears Turn is packed with footage of Caselli riding with his buddies Tim Weigand and Daryl Eckland at various places including 395 MX, Kyle Redmunds Endurocross track and some wicked trails near his home in Palmdale, CA. Last month we played at the movie premeire for Kurt and all his boys in Valencia, Ca. We all had a great time. The soundtrack features 4 songs from us and we are all proud of our boy Cuyler Ruskin for making a great film'

Battle of the Bands Results | June 4, 2007
Ribsy's Nickel took thrid place in last months Your Music Magazines Rock Wars Finals. We won 1200 dollars of studio time at Indigital Studios. We would like to thank everybody who showed up that night.

The Nickel's Back! | June 6, 2005
If you didn't notice, we haven't been playing any shows lately. Why? It's because Willz has been out for the last three month due to a bursted Achilles tendon. We are glad to tell you that Willz is finally walking and we are going to start to play shows again. Our first show will be Saturday July,16th at the Monterey Rock and Art Festival. This is an all ages show, and will be held at the Monterey County Fairgrounds.

Congrats to Ribsy's Nickel homeboy Darryl "Flea" Virostko on winning this year's 2004 Mavericks Surf Contest for the third time in a row. "I had to bring it home to the Norte" said Flea. Also shouts out to Peter "the Condor" Mel and Anthony Tashnick who took 3rd and 4th, and all of the rest of the S.C. crew. Word has it the party ended up at the Watering Hole... Nice!!!!!
